Plague Inc: Evolved

Post by [WLG]Omen »

You control a plague which has infected patient zero. You must infect and kill the whole world population by evolving the plague and adapting to various environments. However, there is a time pressure to complete the game before a cure is developed for the plague.

The list below shows each plague in the order you can unlock them. (You unlock them by beating previous plague on normal difficulty or higher.)

Bacteria: Most common cause of Plague. Unlimited Potential
Virus: A rapidly mutating pathogen which is extremely hard to control
Fungus: Fungal Spores struggle to travel long distances without special effort
Parasite: Parasitic lifestyle prevents DNA alteration from everyday infection
Prion: Slow, subtle and extremely complex pathogen hidden inside the brain
Nano-Virus: Out of control, microscopic machine with a built in kill switch
Bio-Weapon: Exceptionally lethal pathogen that kills everything it touches
Neurax Worm: Manipulative organism that burrows into the brain
Necroa Virus: Necroa Virus is unclassified. Early analysis suggests extreme regenerative abilities
Simian Flu: This plague type is based on the virus in the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movies. It is a genetically modified virus created in a Gen-Sys lab. One special ability is making apes attack Gen-Sys labs to save apes from being used in research experiments, counteracting cure development in the process. Apes can also form colonies to garner DNA points amongst other abilities.

There are 4 difficulty levels, they are:

Casual: Is the easiest difficulty, and is for those wanting a quick or easy game. the reasons easy is, No one washes their hands (No Infection rate decrease), Research doctors don't work (Slow cure research), Sick people given hugs (Increased Infection rate)
*Note: Completing a game in this difficulty will not unlock a new plague. It will unlock new genes.

Normal: is the average difficulty, and is the minimum for unlocking the next (standard) plague type. Difference from previous difficulty: 67.3% of people wash hands (Infection rate decreased), Doctors work 3 days a week (Faster cure research), Sick people ignored (Infection rate decreased once spotted)

Brutal: is the second hardest difficulty, was hardest until they implemented Mega-Brutal. Differences from previous difficulty: Compulsive hand washing (Infection rates decreased dramatically), Doctors never go home (Cure research is much faster than Normal), Sick people locked in prison (When disease is spotted, infection rates are greatly lowered)

Mega Brutal: is the hardest difficulty of all. Introduced with Plague Inc: Evolved. Difference from previous difficulty: Genetic drift impacts evolution (Symptom costs fluctuate over time, generally becoming more expensive with more people infected and less expensive with more people healthy/dead [less infected].), Doctors invest in research (Fastest cure research speed), Random medical check ups (Plague will randomly be detected through "Anomalous blood test results" that usually happen a month or two after the country is infected)

* As per previous note in reference to "unlocking genes"
Before you start a game, you can insert Genetic Code. These genes allows personalization of pathogen by modifying how it infects people, reacts to different environments, and how one acquires DNA. Every time a player finishes a game, they unlock one of the 25 genes. There are five different types of genes: DNA genes, travel genes, evolution genes, mutation genes, and environment genes. Players can only have one of each type of gene per game. There are exclusive genes for Necroa Virus and Simian Flu.
Listed below are the types and the genes for each.
DNA Genes:
1. ATP Boost: Get bonus DNA at the beginning.
2. Metabolic Jump: Get more DNA from popping red, bio-hazard bubbles.
3. Metabolic Hijack: Orange and red bubbles are automatically popped for you.
4. Cytochrome Surge: Get more DNA from popping orange, DNA bubbles.
5. Catalytic Switch: Get bonus DNA from popping blue, cure bubbles.

Travel Genes:
1. Teracyte: Increases chance of plague spreading by land.
2. Aquacyte: Increases chance of plague spreading by sea.
3. Native Biome: Increase infection rate in your starting country.
4. Aerocyte: Increases your chance of plague spreading by air.
5. Suppression: Plague more likely to cross a closed land border.

Evolution Genes:
1. Ionised Helix: Bonus DNA when devolving.
2. Sympto-Stasis: Symptom costs don't increase but easier to cure.
3. Trans-Stasis: Transmission costs don't increase but easier to cure.
4. Translesion: Costs to devolve don't increase.
5. Patho-Stasis: Ability costs don't increase but easier to cure.

Mutation Genes:
1. Darwinist: Increase the chance of your plague mutating.
2. Genetic Mimic: Your plague is harder to cure.
3. Base Hydrolysis: Your plague can mutate abilities but easier to cure.
4. Creationist: Decrease the chance of your plague mutating.
5. Base Oxidisation: Your plague can mutate transmissions but easier to cure.

Environment Genes:
1. Xerophile: Give your plague a bonus in arid climates.
2. Rurophile: Give your plague a bonus in rural environments.
3. Extremophile: Give your plague a minor bonus in all environments.
4. Hydrophile: Give your plague a bonus in humid climates.
5. Urbophile: Give your plague a bonus in urban environment.

Genes specific to Necroa Virus
Evolution Genes:
1. Autolytic Reduction: Slightly decreases the speed at which zombies decay.
2. Cytopathic Boost: Infected corpses are more likely to reanimate as a zombie.
3. Spliced Activation: Active abilities cost less DNA to use.
4. ThermoNecro: Reduces zombie rate of decay in hot countries.
5. Dopamine Inhibitor: Increases chance of a zombie victim becoming a zombie

Genes specific to Simian Flu.
Mutation Genes:
1. Cortisol Sensitivity: Reduces research from Gen-Sys experiments on apes.
2. Latent Catalyst: Get DNA when a Gen-Sys lab is destroyed.
3. Ion Deficit: Cost more to devolve but harder to cure.
4. Ion Surge: Cost less to devolve but easier to cure.
5. ATP Overdose: Bonus DNA at start but cost significantly more to devolve.

Evolution Genes:
1. Viral Affinity: Increases ape to ape transmission.
2. Call of the Wild: Apes less likely to be found by humans.
3. Together Strong: Increases DNA from colonies.
4. Leadership: Active abilities cost less DNA to use.
5. Adrenal Surge: Increases ape strength and speed but lethal over time.

Now you may be wondering why I didn't just give you a brief review and let you find all this out for yourself. Well this is in hopes that not only will you possibly try the game, but that this may help you at start until you learn or unlock the above listed. I love this game, and tell all they should get it. There are still other things to learn for you, like transmission types, symptoms and abilities. As well as achievements like "Uh Oh": unwanted accidents with Diarrhoea and Sneezing.
All I did was give you a helpful guide and hope from there you love destroying the world as much as I do.

As always if you have a specific question, post it, and I will answer fully to the best of my knowledge.
