Story is how the rebellion got the plans to the death star i believe.
so it takes place before episode 4.



but i will default to some of the bigger star wars geeks on if that is correct..

Thats what I was thinking too. It just seemed so random and I was expecting the next one to be Episode 8.

So, as a Star Wars geek, I will clarify.

Disney has the rights to Star Wars and their current movie strategy is to release episode 7,8,9. But in between each of these releases are going to be one-off movies. (Basically movies that occur in the Star Wars Universe, but are unrelated to the episode 1-9 saga.

This is the first one-off movie and yes, as trenton said, this would take place between 3 and 4.

There are rumors of one of the one-off movies being a Boba Fett bounty hunter flick.
