I want your internet connection please .... Can I host a server over at your place? I just want to hit that peak once or twice ... Then all my HDD's will be full.

I have 8x 500GB drives and 2x 1TB drives sitting on my desk right now. I am waiting on a RAID controller card to come in from Newegg so I can build a new NAS.
My Theater machine has 4x 2TB drives on top of the 500 gig OS drive
My personal machine has 3x 1TB drives striped on top of the SSD
I still dont have enough drives .... But Im getting there. Gotta get preparred for the second hit from the internet.

At 29.4 EXABITS per second it takes .153 MILLISECONDS to fill 6TB of space or 1000TB in .272ms. This is faster than your CPU fetches data from L1 cache. AT 1 TB/s (faster than my L1 and likely yours as well) it would take (more than) 42 days 12 hours and 50 minutes for a CPU to transfer the 3.675 EXABYTES of data to ITSELF. by next year the internet is estimated to transfer over 31 TB/s in other words.... Your gonna need a bigger raid controller....

Untill one of us happens into some SANs that are 56GB/s infiniband trunked into a 100GB/s core switch in a COLO we might be SOL.
